The South East region covers an extensive area of the South of England and ten members were elected in May 2014. European Parliamentary elections are held every five years. These elections are usually held at the beginning of June although the European Parliament makes the decision nearer the time as to the date. Unlike UK Parliamentary General Elections the European Parliament is elected on a fixed 5 year term.
